The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced that the closure of Kinmundy Road between Xenia Iola Road (County Road 6) and Oskaloosa Road/Sea Horse Drive will begin Monday, April 25.
The project involves pouring a reinforced concrete slab over a box culvert.
Work is expected to be completed by May 6, weather permitting.
No traffic will be permitted on the Kinmundy Road between Xenia Iola Road (County Road 6) and Oskaloosa Road/Sea Horse Drive except for local traffic. Motorists will need to use an alternate route and should allow for extra travel time.
Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
