SC Earns Victory Over Greenville At GCS Stadium….Wood Bat Get’s Started Today

The SC Cougars traveled to GCS Stadium in Sauget and knocked off Greenville 13-4.  Aidan Dodson started and worked 3 innings as Greenville jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the first.  The Cougars would tie the game after the fourth and then explode for 5 runs in the 5th to pull away.  Spencer Johannes got the win going 3 innings of relief and Anthony Buonaura had a clean inning of work.  At the plate, SC got 3 RBI from Beau Jolliff as he doubled along with Ethan Dunn, Buonaura, Chase Thompson and Dodson doubled twice.  Johannes, Buonaura and Dodson drove in 2 each with RBI also from Thompson, Jon Bursott, Andrew Magnus and Ethan Watwood.  The Cougars improve to 8-4 on the season.

The Cougars Wood Bat Tournament will be held this weekend beginning today.  Due to the renovation work at Lions Field, the tournament has been moved to Flora.  The first game today is at 2pm featuring North Clay and Woodlawn followed by Flora and SC at 4pm.

Then tomorrow the day begins at 10 with Flora and Woodlawn, then Woodlawn and SC at 12, SC and North Clay will highlight the tournament at 2 and the final game will be North Clay and Flora.
