The Salem 12u traveled to the Olney Spring Open Tournament this weekend and finished 1-1.
Kyler King homered in the pool play win on Saturday helping Salem to a 12-8 win over the Illini Krush. King drove in 3 runs going 2-3 with 2 runs scored; Drake Rector also had 3 RBI. Caleb Squibb drove in 2 with RBI also from Silas Lux and Damon Jennings. Scout Puricelli had a hit and scored 2 runs, Nicholi Marhenka added a hit. Logan Butts, Jaxon Ward, Landon White and Kyler King all pitched in the win.
Salem then lost their Sunday elimination game to Z20 Batz 12-4. In the loss, Scout Puricelli drove in a run along with Silas Lux and Logan Butts. Kyler King doubled twice with homer runs from Butts, Lux and Puricelli. King and Ward combined on the mound in the loss.
