UNDATED (AP) — The Tampa Bay Lightning have climbed into second place in the NHL’s Atlantic Division, six points behind Florida with 15 games remaining for both teams.
The Lightning were 5-2 winners over the Blackhawks in Jon Cooper’s 700th game as an NHL head coach.
Ross Colton scored twice and had an assist for the Lightning, who moved a point ahead of Toronto for second place in the Atlantic. Andrei Vasilevskiy stopped 21 shots and improved to 13-0 against the Blackhawks in the regular season. Steven Stamkos and Brayden Point each had a goal and an assist for the Bolts.

— The Rangers remain five points off the Metropolitan Division lead following a 3-0 loss to the Islanders. Semyon Varlamov stopped 27 shots in his 36th career shutout, helping the Isles win their third in a row and improve to 7-2-1 in their last 10 games. Mathew Barzal scored once and had an assist, one night after ending a 15-game goal drought.
— Connor McDavid’s second goal of the game ended the Oilers’ 6-5 overtime win against the Blues. Zach Hyman also scored two goals, and Evander Kane had a goal and two assists in the Oilers’ ninth consecutive home win. Pavel Buchnevich scored twice for St. Louis.
— The Golden Knights dumped the Kraken, 5-2 as Jack Eichel notched his first two-goal game since being acquired by Vegas. Logan Thompson made 26 saves to help Vegas move a point ahead of Dallas for the second and final wild-card berth in the West. Jonathan Marchessault’s empty-netter was his 27th of the season for the Knights.
— The Sabres extended their point streak to eight games at 5-0-3 with a 4-3 win over the Predators. Tage Thompson scored twice for Buffalo, including his team-leading 30th goal. Victor Olofsson scored the go-ahead goal with 5:35 left in the second period.
— Mathieu Joseph registered a hat trick while the Senators scored four times in the third period of a 5-2 victory over the Red Wings. Joseph’s first career hat trick was also the first three goals he scored for the Senators since being acquired from Tampa Bay at the trade deadline. Mads Sogaard stopped 27 shots to win his NHL debut.
— The Ducks’ 11-game losing streak is over after Anthony Stolarz made 22 saves for his third shutout of the season, leading a 5-0 win over the Coyotes. Isac Lundestrom had two goals and an assist in Anaheim’s first victory since March 6.
