Bond has been set at $40,000 for a 42-year-old Centralia man formally charged in Marion County Court on Friday with unlawful restraint and possession of meth.

Robert Williams of Perrine Street was arrested when going to the Centralia Police Department on Thursday to pick up a report.   He was detained because he was a person of interest in a January 24th domestic disturbance in the parking lot of the Community Resource Center.   Police say Williams had let the alleged female victim go and was leaving in her car when they arrived on the scene.   He left the car a few blocks away but had remained at large until Thursday.

The methamphetamine charge was filed based on Williams allegedly having methamphetamine in his possession at the time he was taken into custody at the police station.

If released on bond, Williams was ordered to have no contact with the victim, her residence, or employment.

The public defender was appointed to represent Williams.   A preliminary hearing is set for April 19th.
