Rilla C. Crouch, 99 years, 11 months, and 1 day old, of Salem, Illinois passed away March 24, 2022, at Centralia Manor with her loving family by her side.
Born April 23, 1922, in Arkansas, she was the daughter of James R. and Luellen (McVey) Fry.
Rilla retired as the bookkeeper for her family business, Crouch Radiator and Auto AC in Salem started in 1944. She loved crafting, making wedding and funeral flowers for many years.
She was a faithful member of Marion County Church of Christ and was very active in the Salem Hospital Auxiliary. She dearly loved her family, cooking, baking, and spending time together.
She united in marriage May 31, 1943, in Wheeling, Arkansas with Cay Crouch and he preceded her in death on September 11, 1994.
Surviving are her children, Robert Crouch and wife Teresa of Iuka, Richard Crouch and wife Edie of Iuka, Barbara Terrell and husband Bob of Thorsby, Alabama, and Brenda Mulvany and husband Lindell of Salem. Also 9 grandchildren, and several great and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her grandsons, T. J. Crouch, Rob Terrell, granddaughter Cindy Owen, and ten brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Tuesday in the chapel of Sutherland – Rankin Funeral Home, with burial to follow in the East Lawn Cemetery. Dwight Butler, a former pastor, and dear friend will officiate. Visiting hours will be from 11:00 am until the service hour at the funeral home.
