Norma Jean Ranmar, 94, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away peacefully at 12:30 am on Saturday, March 12, 2022.Norma was born on November 6, 1927, in Mount Vernon to Harry and Velma (Foster) Bishop who preceded her in death.
In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her brother, Harry Bishop, Jr. and sister, Martha Lee Lawson.
She married James Paul Ranmar in 1941 in Saint Louis, Missouri. They were blessed with fifty-eight years of marriage before he preceded her in death on March 26, 1999.
Norma is survived by her children, Madelynne Carole Ranmar and Paul (Sharon) Everett Ranmar; sister, Jackie Lemon Golden; sister-in-law, Shelby Bishop; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give a special thanks to her kind and caring caregivers.
During her years of marriage to James, they owned and operated several Ranmar Standard Tire Stores in Southern and Northern Illinois and traveled extensively to many countries.
