Thomas scores game-winner as Blues beat Predators

UNDATED (AP) — Robert Thomas has increased his season goal total by 50% over the St. Louis Blues’ last two games.

Thomas scored twice, including the game-winner with 2:38 remaining in the Blues’ 7-4 downing of the Predators. He has scored twice in each of the Blues’ last two games since netting eight in his first 49 contests.

David Perron (peh-RAHN’) also scored twice and Jordan Kyrou (KY’-roo) had three assists, helping St. Louis move five points and of Nashville for second place in the Central Division.

Brandon Saad (sahd) and Torey Krug (kroog) each had a goal and an assist for the Blues.

Elsewhere on NHL ice:

— Jordan Martinook (MAHR’-tih-nook) scored the game-winner with 3:50 left in the Hurricanes’ 3-1 win over the Flyers. Martinook snapped a 1-1 tie with his first goal in 18 games since returning to the lineup.

— Connor McDavid scored twice and Mikko Koskinen (MEE’-koh KAHS’-kih-nehn) stopped 30 shots as the Oilers beat the Lightning, 4-1. Leon Draisaitl (DRY’-sy-tul) and Kailer Yamamoto (KAY’-lur yah-mah-MOH’-tah) each had a goal and an assist for the Oilers, who have won two in a row and moved into third place in the Pacific Division.

— Charlie Coyle scored with 3:21 left in the third period of the Bruins’ ninth win in 11 games, 3-2 versus the Coyotes. Craig Smith scored twice in the first period of Boston’s 18th straight win over Arizona.

— Jacob Markstrom made 19 saves for his league-leading ninth shutout to lead the Flames to a 3-0 win over the Red Wings. Elias Lindholm netted his career-high 30th goal for Calgary, which also received scoring from Tyler Toffoli (tah-FOH’-lee) and Blake Coleman.

— Artemi Panarin (ahr-TEH’-mee pah-NAH’-rihn) had a goal and two of his four assists while the Rangers scored four times in the first period of their fourth win in six games, 7-4 at Dallas. Dryden Hunt set up three scores and Ryan Strome (strohm) furnished a goal and an assist for New York.

— Sharks netminder Adin Hill had 29 saves in his first appearance in more than a month, a 5-0 shutout of the Kings. Tomas Hertl scored two goals, Timo Meier had a goal and two assists to help San Jose win consecutive games for the first time in two months.

— Tomas Tatar (tah-TAHR’) and Jesper Bratt scored in a shootout and Nico Daws stopped both Anaheim attempts to secure the Devils’ 2-1 victory. Tatar also tallied in overtime and Daws had 33 saves as New Jersey finished with three wins in its four-game homestand.

— Jonathan Toews (tayvz) and Caleb Jones each scored twice and the Blackhawks rallied to beat the Senators, 6-3. Down 2-0 after the first period, Chicago scored four times in the second to take a 4-3 lead.

— Seattle squandered a two-goal lead before Marcus Johansson scored in the seventh round of the shootout, sending the Kraken to a 4-3 win at Montreal. Johansson also had two assists, and Yanni Gourde, Ryan Donato, and Jared McCann had goals in regulation for Seattle.
