A Central City home received heavy fire damage Tuesday afternoon.
Centralia Fire Protection District Chief Ross Boshera says Jesse and Latonya Neal of 1431 North Elm along with three children were all out of the home uninjured upon their arrival. Boshera reports flames were shooting 20 feet into the air from two front bedroom windows. He says District firemen with mutual
assistance from the Centralia City Fire Department got a quick knockdown, but about half the home was gutted and the other half had heavy heat damage. Firemen were able to keep the fire from burning through the roof.
The State Fire Marshal’s office investigated the cause of the fire, but no determination has yet been made. Boshera says the Red Cross was called to assist the residents of the home.
Firemen received the call at 12:41 Tuesday afternoon and were on the scene for about three hours. No injuries were reported. Lifestar Ambulance and Central City Police also stood by at the fire scene. Sandoval Firemen manned the Centralia Fire Protection District station in the event of another fire.
