The prep state girls basketball tournaments continued last night and will finish up today. In Class 3a semifinals at Redbird Arena, Civic Memorial fell to Mundelein Carmel in the 1st semifinal 51-24. Nazareth Academy beat Morton 55-24. In the 3rd place game, Civic Memorial lost 55-41.
In 4a, Lincolnshire Stevenson knocked off Lisle Benet Academy 36-28 and Barrington over Bolingbrook 64-55. In the 3rd place game last night, Bolingbrook earned a 57-54 win.
Today is Championship Saturday. The day begins with the 3-point shootout finals followed by the 1a state title game at 11 between Brimfield and Galena. At 1pm in 2a, Quincy Notre Dame takes on Winnebago. In 3a today at 5:30 it’s Mundelein Carmel and Nazareth Academy with the 4a game at 7:15 between Lincolnshire Stevenson and Barrington.
