2022 03/04 – Janet Sue Goodrich

Janet Sue Goodrich, 69, of Addieville, passed away Thursday, February 17, 2022, at Carlyle Healthcare. Janet was a loyal employee for Rockwell International and later retiring for Belleville Shoe Factory. The peace of the outdoors brought Janet comfort and enjoyment from camping, fishing, gardening, and horseback riding to name a few. In 1981, Janet traveled to Wyoming and had huge success with big game hunting and capturing the prize-winning antelope. Janet’s love for animals went above and beyond the game of hunting, but training and showing Afgan Hounds, and later a passion for Rottweilers. She was an avid reader on becoming educated and knowledgeable about her hobbies and interests. Janet studied holistic medicine and appreciated the bodies natural process of healing. She valued the benefits of herbs and crystals for a pure approach to therapeutic treatment. Janet will be remembered as a loving mother and dear friend.

Friends and family are invited to visiting hours from 10:00 – 12:00 p.m., Saturday, March 5, 2022, at the Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia with Rev. Fr. Steven Pautler officiating. Burial will follow at New Baden City Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Janet’s memory may be made to the family.

Survivors to cherish the memories made over the years, son Donald Goodrich of Nashville; sister-in-law Peggy Hollingsworth; nephews Wesley Moore, Ricky Moore; nieces Terasa Smith and husband Roy, Patricia Chaney and husband Bradley, Samantha Lopez Rojas and husband Vicente, and Amanda Hollingsworth; great-nieces and nephews Elizabeth Snyder, Jacob Synder, John Lopez Rojas, Rose Lopez Rojas, Ron Farnsworth, Chris Hunter, and Ryan Smith; and special friends Brenda (Keith) Winter, Beverly (John) Schipkowski, and Bridget (Rich) Willis.

She was born September 22, 1952, the daughter of Gordon C. and Antoinette (Much) Hollingsworth. Janet was preceded in death by her mother and father; brother John Hollingsworth; and her sister and brother-in-law Judy and Rich Moore.
