Salem High School All Class Reunion set for this Spring

By Bruce Kropp Feb 25, 2022 | 10:43 AM

The Salem High School All Class Reunion will happen this spring.

The All Class Reunion Committee has announced the event that had to be canceled last year due to COVID has been rescheduled for the weekend of April 8th.

This year’s events will include a mixer on Friday night which will be held at the Salem Community Activities Center. Admission will be free to those who have registered in advance or $5.00 at the door. The Friday night event will also feature musical entertainment and guests will be able to purchase food/beverages on site.

Saturday morning will kick off at SCHS with the Academic Hall of Fame recognition breakfast where the newest members of the Hall of Fame will be honored by the Academic Foundation.  The events at SCHS will continue that afternoon with guided tours of the building and the All-Class Variety Show.  Hoping to recapture some of the magic of Variety Shows from years ago, the show is slated to feature some fan favorites – including the band’s performance of Vincent Youman’s, the Invaders reunited for one day only, and Gene Stiman on trombone. Admission to this event is free to weekend ticket holders, and $5.00 at the door to all others who want to attend.

Saturday night the guests will return to the Community Center for the weekend’s main event. For those who have purchased the $40.00 full weekend ticket the evening activities will start at 5:30 p.m. and will include a cocktail hour, catered meal, and live music by EPIC for the guest’s enjoyment. At 8:00 p.m., those who want to join the group following the meal for music/dancing can gain admission by paying $10.00 at the door. Guests will have the opportunity to see and socialize with members of all graduating classes in addition to those in attendance from their own class. In the history of the event over 5,000 people have attended the Saturday night festivities.   The Committee is hoping that this year’s event will see the alumni return in droves. Advance reservations are required for the dinner and must be received by March 15, 2022.

The weekend will conclude on Sunday morning when all returning alumni will be encouraged to return to their childhood place of worship for an opportunity to fellowship with their fellow alumni and congregation members.

The ticket price for the weekend will be $40.00 per person. Persons who plan to attend can make their reservations now by accessing the invitation form online at www.schsallclass.com or in person at the offices of Sam Phillips, CPA, on North Broadway in Salem.

To ease concerns regarding the possibility of another forced cancellation, the Committee will offer registrants two easy options: If canceled, the registrant can leave his/her deposit on account and be automatically signed up for the rescheduled event OR he/she can request a 95% refund of the ticket price (5% being reserved to handle costs of processing/mailing).
