State Police say one driver was hurt during a chain-reaction crash at the entrance to the southbound I-57 Rest Area south of Salem Thursday morning.

A preliminary investigation indicates 28-year-old Brandy Talley of Decatur, Georgia was attempting to pull into the Post Oak Rest Area and failed to reduce speed, striking three other trucks that were parked on the right shoulder of the entrance ramp.

Talley was transported by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.   The other three drivers, all from out of state, reported no injuries.

Talley was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

An hour earlier, State Police say they handled a property damage crash on southbound I-57 two miles south of Salem.  The driver of a pickup truck pulling a trailer lost control and struck a guardrail.
