2022 02/23 – Pearl Hamilton

Pearl Hamilton, 85, of Centralia, passed away Saturday, February 19, 2022 at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia. Pearl worked at State Farm for 25 plus years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Centralia, where she was a member of the Booster Club and Catholic Daughters of America. She enjoyed cooking and baking. Pearl loved showing her love to those around her with her cooking. She cherished the time she spent with her family and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial for Pearl Hamilton will be held Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Centralia with Father Steven Pautler officiating. Burial will follow at the Zion Hill Church Cemetery in rural Centralia. Visitation will be held Wednesday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Mary’s Church and will be accepted at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home at 235 North Sycamore Street Centralia, Illinois 62801, (618)532-3523, who is honored to be of service to the Hamilton Family. She married the love of her life, Bill G. Hamilton on December 23, 1952 in Evangeline, Louisiana and he survives. In addition her husband of 69 years, Bill G. Hamilton of Centralia, she is also survived by her four children: Victoria “Vicky” Shawn and husband Bob of Salem, Nancy Geiser of St. Louis, Missouri, Bill Hamilton, Jr. and wife Susan of Collinsville, and Sheila Hamilton of Centralia; eight grandchildren: Betsy Ann McCarty and husband Ryan of Lebanon, Jacob Geiser of Tampa, Florida, Adam Geiser of St. Louis, Missouri, Nolan Hamilton of Collinsville, Nicholas Hamilton of Collinsville, Alexandra Morrison and husband Robert of Fredericktown, Missouri, Andi Payne and husband J.T. of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Seth Edmonson of Trenton; one great-granddaughter: Rachel Marie Morrison; two brothers: Francis McFarlain of Lake Charles, Louisiana and Joe McFarlain of Lafayette, Louisiana; a sister: Kathy Bouley of Lafayette, Louisiana; and several nieces and nephews.

She was born July 6, 1936 in Evangeline, Louisiana, the daughter of Venice McFarlain and Rose (Louvier) McFarlain. Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, two grandchildren: Blake Perkins and Tiffany Sears, and four brothers: Henry McFarlain, Chester McFarlain, Junior McFarlain, and Jerry McFarlain.
