Two Salem residents were taken to the hospital for treatment following a two-vehicle crash early Sunday night on West Main at Kinney Boulevard.
Salem Police say a pickup truck driven by 65-year-old Kenneth Grayling of Kankakee was traveling eastbound on West Main when it collided with an SUV driven by 85-year-old Della Day of Bob White Lane in Salem. Police say Day disobeyed a traffic light and began to make a turn in front of Grayling when the crash occurred.
Both Della Day and a passenger in her vehicle, 87-year-old Kenneth Day of Bob White Lane, were transported by United Medical Response to Salem Township Hospital for treatment.
Both Kenneth Grayling and a passenger in his pickup, 65-year-old Nacola Grayling of Kankakee, were checked on the scene and declined hospital treatment.
Salem Fire Protection District Firemen were called to the scene, but there was no entrapment or fire.
The crash occurred at 6:31 Sunday night.
