Charles Russell Williams, 70, of Hammond, Indiana, and formerly of Kell, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at his home in Hammond, Indiana.
“Russ” was born in Salem, Illinois, on January 1, 1952, the son of Charles William ‘Bill’ Williams and Barbara (Purdue) Williams.
He graduated from Lake Central High School in St. John, Indiana. He relocated to Schererville, Indiana, where he owned and operated his auto mechanics and towing business.
Mr. Williams is survived by two sons, Brad and Sam Williams, both of Hammond, Indiana; grandson, Nicholas; brother, Ronald Williams and wife Diane of Tucson, Arizona; niece, Nikki Leeman and husband Derrick, and nephew, Ronny Williams, all of Tucson, Arizona; special Aunt, Roberta Williams of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gregory Williams; and a special Uncle, Bob Williams.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., at the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Zion Grove (County Line) Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to Zion Grove Cemetery, and will be accepted at the service, or by mail to the Osborn Funeral Home, P.O.
