Rae “Rae Rae” Ann Arrowsmith, 87, of Salem passed away Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Twin Willows in Salem. Rae Ann loved her television time and enjoyed watching many shows and especially her favorite, wrestling. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, loving whenever spring training came around, knowing she would have so many fun games to watch and cheer on her Cubbies. Having had a special love for the game in her early years, Rae played softball in Chicago. Over the years, Rae enjoyed traveling to many different destinations, especially Europe and Switzerland. She was a junk food enthusiast, her favorite sweet treat of choice being a vanilla milk shake or Twinkie. Rae Ann loved and appreciated her family above all, and she will be fondly remembered.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 18, 2022, at the Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Odin with Pastor Christine Cunningham officiating. Interment will follow at Peaceful Valley Cemetery where Rae Ann will be laid to rest next to her loving parents. Friends are welcome to a visitation time from 9: 30 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home in Odin. Memorials may be made in Rae Ann’s honor to the Parkinson Foundation. Survivors that Rae Ann was grateful to call family include several special cousins; Mary Ann Milano, husband Jim of Salem, Ginny Robertson of Bethalto; several other cousins Kari Collier, husband John, Ken Milano, Tim Milano, wife Pam, Vicky Bruns, husband Dave, and Rob Robertson, wife Sherry; and a host of other cousins.
She was born on December 20, 1934, the daughter of Raymond and Ruth (Risinger) Arrowsmith in Chicago. Rae Ann was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Ruth Arrowsmith; aunts; uncles; and cousins.
