Marlyn G Payne of Woodlawn, Illinois passed away at home surrounded by family at 6:30 pm Saturday, February 12, 2022. Marlyn was a dedicated teacher in Missouri for over 20 years. After retiring from teaching, she enjoyed painting, crafting, and being a dedicated sports fan to her grandchildren. She was a member of Woodlawn Christian Church in Woodlawn, Illinois. She was an amazing grandma to each and every one of her grandchildren.

She married James Payne Jr. on January 22, 1966, and lived a happy life together after being high school sweethearts for 56 years. Marlyn is survived by her husband, James Payne; two sons, Brett Payne wife, Kristi of Springfield, Missouri, Bradley Payne and wife Lisa of Eureka, Missouri; daughter, Beth Anne Williams and husband Wesley of Woodlawn, Illinois; nine grandchildren; Joshua Payne, Jeremy Payne, Destyn Payne, Zachary and wife Samantha Ashby, Sterling Swink, Macy Williams, Jaeda Meier, Libby Williams, Benjamin Payne; and five great-grandchildren.
