Centralia City Firemen were able to confine a dryer fire to a wall vent exiting a home.

The fire was at a residence occupied by Shawntel Louis at 1216 McKee Street late Saturday morning.

Firemen say upon arrival they found a smoke smell and light smoke coming from the laundry room.  The fire was discovered in the pass-through vent from the laundry room into the wall.  It was put out with a fire extinguisher.   Firemen did open up the wall around the vent to make sure the fire had not spread.

Lint is believed to have started the fire.

The fire call came in at 11:24 Saturday morning with firemen on the scene until 1:16 pm.  No additional firemen were called in.

The home is owned by Roger McKay.
