UNDATED (AP) — The Tampa Bay Lightning still haven’t lost back-to-back games in regulation this season.
The Lightning bounced back from Thursday’s 3-2 loss at Colorado by downing the Coyotes, 4-3. Steve Stamkos scored twice in the third period, giving the Bolts a two-goal lead each time.
Brayden Point and Corey Perry also scored to back Brian Elliott, who made 15 saves in his second start since Dec. 31.
Elsewhere on NHL ice:
— Jason Robertson reached the 20-goal mark by scoring at 3:10 of overtime to give the Stars a 4-3 win over the Jets. Jacob Peterson, Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn also scored for the Stars, who have won seven of their last nine games dating to Jan. 20. Pierre-Luc Dubois, Jensen Harkins and Mark Scheifele scored in Winnipeg’s eighth loss in 10 games.
— Jordan Eberle scored with 1:42 remaining to give the Kraken a 4-3 win over the Ducks. Ryan Donato had two goals and Vince Dunn scored for the Kraken, who have won consecutive road games for the second time. Isac Lundestrom scored twice and Rickard Rakell had a power-play goal, but the Ducks lost in their return from the All-Star break to end a 4-0-2 run.
— Jay Woodcroft got a win in his NHL coaching debut as the Oilers beat the Islanders, 3-1. Cody Ceci, Zach Hyman and Jesse Puljujarvi scored to help Edmonton win for just the fourth time in its last 12 home games. Mike Smith turned away 37 shots for the Oilers, who snapped a two-game skid and improved to 6-2-1 in their last nine overall.
Flyers center Couturier has season-ending back surgery
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Philadelphia Flyers center Sean Couturier has undergone season-ending back surgery.
Couturier was the Flyers’ top line center but had missed the last 17 games with the injury. He ended the season with 17 points in 29 games.
The Flyers are 3-11-3 without Couturier, who is expected to be ready for the start of next season.
