Wrestling Wildcats Show Well At Vandalia

The Salem Youth Wrestling Club finished 17th out of 49 teams at a very tough Vandalia Invitational over the weekend.  Willie Vincent and Henry Thoms finished 1st.

Ethan Petrillo, Hagen Simmons and Thayn Gowler were 2nd.

Kyler King was 3rd and earned a pin and a sudden victory takedown in overtime to move to the medal round.  Jeremiah Haynes was 3rd.  He had 2 pins and defeated a kid in the medal round he lost to in the opening round.

Garrett Hunter had a sudden victory takedown in overtime to finish 4th.  Myles Donoho took a tough 3-1 loss in the opening round, then he got a sudden victory takedown for a chance at the medal round.  He won the next match 9-7 on a late takedown to advance and loses a heartbreaker 3-2 in the final seconds but was 4th overall.

Preston Camp and Kade Orrell were 4th as well.

Briar Hills was 2nd going 1-1 with a pin at Anna Jonesboro.
