UNDATED (AP) — Has Tom Brady decided to retire?
Two people familiar with the details tell The Associated Press the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback told the team he hasn’t decided to end his playing career.
ESPN first reported Brady’s retirement on Saturday, citing unidentified sources. Brady’s company posted a tweet indicating he’s retiring, and reaction came from around the world congratulating Brady on his career. But the two AP sources say Brady informed Buccaneers general manager Jason Licht he has not made a decision. The post on TB12sports’ Twitter account has been removed.
Brady’s agent released this statement: “I understand the advance speculation about Tom’s future. Without getting into the accuracy or inaccuracy of what’s being reported, Tom will be the only person to express his plans with complete accuracy.”
