Morris “Mo” Ford, 84, of Centralia passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia. Morris worked as a loyal employee of Warren G. Murray Center in Centralia. He was of the Baptist faith. He was active in the community and a member of the Centralia Moose Lodge 1219. He enjoyed spending time playing basketball with Colby, telling stories with Cody, singing his favorite songs on Karaoke, fishing with his grandkids, working on his golf swing, trail bike riding, and was an avid dirt bike rider. He came to be known by the nickname “Hilltopper” for being nothing but fearless on his bike. His time was well spent with his wife Belinda, as well as on Wednesday, having dinner with his daughter Rhonda. His most precious moments were spent with those he loved the most, his family. Morris said, “I hope all my friends and family will remember me for the nice person I’ve tried to be all my life and I have no doubt they will.” Morris was a friend to all and will be deeply and truly missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of life service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at the Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia with Mimi Hawkins officiating. Friends are welcome to a visitation time from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in Morris’ honor to the donor’s choice. He married the love of his life, Belinda Robertson on October 14, 2006, in Las Vegas and she survives in Centralia. Along with his beloved wife of 15 years, Belinda Ford, Morris is survived by his daughter Rhonda and Bill Nehrt of Wamac; stepson Cody Paradee and Jenny Shelton of Mt. Vernon; grandson Colby Wood and Michaela Savage; step grandchildren Hadley Paradee, Grayson Paradee, and Ashlee Nerht; great grandchildren Charlie and Oliver Wood; step great grandchildren Nolan, Sophie, Chase, Hailey, and Kailee; brother Richard and Margaret Ragan of Wayne City; sister Marilyn Coleman of North Carolina; sister-in-law’s Ty and Bob Bone of Junction City, Pat and Roy Hart of Centralia, Debi Bourland of Belle Rive, Holly and Harold Johnson of Centralia, Winnie and Don Weemer of Odin, Candy and Curtis Miller of Junction City; and nephews Ty and Christy Lockwood, and Jimmy and Barbie Lockwood.
He was born on September 29, 1937, the son of Fay and Kathryn (Church) Ford in Mt. Vernon, and was raised by Grandma and Grandpa Davis. Morris was preceded in death by his parents Fay and Kathryn Ford; Grandma and Grandpa Davis; brother Jim Lockwood; brother-in-law Sam Bourland; cousins Alice and Warren White; and 5 great grand angel babies.
