Marion County Clerk Steve Fox of Kinmundy has announced he will seek a third term in the June primary election.
Fox feels he has made several improvements to the office and voting process.
Fox has one major project ahead if he is re-elected.
“The digitizing or scanning of some of the records like the recorded documents or some of the vital records. Those just get so worn down through the years. Some of this stuff is from the 1800’s and it would be great to get it that we could use the digital record instead of the hard copy. We still keep the hard copy as permanent record here, but going through them and using them so much.”
Fox says he has set aside money to at least get the project started. He’s also hopeful the Marion County Board will approve the purchase of new voting equipment which will replace equipment that is being patched together and in endanger of failing.
If Fox wins the primary, he will advance to the November general election.
