Jerry L. Myers, age 83 of Iuka, passed away on Friday, December 31, 2021, at his home in Iuka surrounded by his family.
Jerry was born on July 25, 1938, in Charleston, IL the son of Paul Edwin and Margaret Irene (Kirk) Myers.
He worked for many years as a farmer, worked for the Central Illinois Power Company as an electrician, and pumped oil wells for Shakespeare Oil for many years. He retired from the Village of Iuka. His hobby was working on his rental properties. Jerry was a member of the Lovells Grove Christian Church in Omega.
Survivors include his life companion of 35 years, Betty Barrall of Iuka; children, Thresa Hall and husband Chris of Howard, PA; Joseph Myers and companion Lori Lacy of Iuka; Amy Myers and special friend Mike Hammond of Salem; and Jack Myers of San Diego, CA; grandchildren, Jeremy Hall, Lindsay Hall and husband Colin Clark, Bailey Jean Myers and fiancé Craig McGee, Carly Jo Myers and fiancé Austin Nix, Blake Joseph Myers, and Mitchell Neff and wife Ellen’ great-grandchildren, SheaLynn, Lilly, Oaklynn, Myles, Ciera, Landen, Samantha, Mackenzi, and Cheyenne. He was also survived by a sister-in-law, Daisy Myers of Mt. Zion, and four nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Kirk Myers.
Graveside services for Jerry L. Myers will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Iuka Cemetery. Crouse Funeral Home in Salem is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences can be made at www.CrouseFH.com.
