George Frank Thompson Jr., 65, of Mount Vernon, IL, passed away at 4:01 am December 23, 2021 at SSM Health Good Samaritan in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Frank was a truck driver for several years for EFI in Centralia, Illinois and was an avid fisherman and boat mechanic. He also owned and operated Big Muddy Marine. Frank was a loving father, husband and a devoted friend and will be forever missed.

He married Donna (Williford) Thompson on November 5, 1988 in Bonnie, Illinois. Frank is survived by his two sons, George Frank Thompson III and wife, Jacenta, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Jeremy Thompson of Vandalia, Illinois; two step daughters, Tina Beckham and husband, Lyle of Opdyke, Illinois, Tracy St. Clair and husband, Skip of Wayne, Ohio; step son, Kenneth Bressler and wife Vicky of Mount Vernon, Illinois; nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
He was born July 30, 1956 in Mount Vernon, Illinois to George Frank Thompson Sr. and Jennie (Wilkey) Thompson. Frank was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
