Inez Hughes McReynolds, 96, formerly of Mt. Vernon Illinois, peacefully passed away at the Menomonee Falls Health Services, Menomonee Falls Wisconsin on Friday, December 3, 2021 at 3:41p.m. Inez was a faithful member of Pavey Chapel C.M.E. Church until she relocated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin due to declining health. She was President of the Senior Choir, and served on several committees and Boards. She was a member of BPW in Mt. Vernon. She was a member of the Grand Court of Calanthe Mt. Vernon Chapter. She also served on the Illinois Agency on Aging. Inez was an outstanding bowler and won several trophies during her participation in the State Tournaments. She was employed by the City of Mt. Vernon School District at the Central Kitchen. Inez was well known for her green thumb and had a display of beautiful potted plants throughout her home. She was an amazing seamstress and passed her talent down to her daughters. She was always well dressed and believed that even on your worst day…dress your very best. Inez was loved and respected by her family and friends and we are blessed to have sweet memories of her. Rest well and be in perfect peace Inez….we will truly miss your presence.
A Visitation will be held Saturday, December 18, 2021 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 pm. She leaves behind daughters, Cynthia McReynolds Davis, St. Louis, Missouri; Jacqueline McReynolds, McCullum, husband, Robert McCullum, Peoria, Illinois; and Wanda McReynolds Frazier, Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and one son, Steven McReynolds, Mt. Vernon, Illinois; 17 Grandchildren; 41 Great Grandchildren; and 24 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
Inez was born on October 15, 1925 in Coila, Mississippi, the daughter of Lula and Charles Wesley Hughes. Inez was the youngest of 15 siblings, who all preceded her in death. She married Gaylord W. McReynolds, a resident of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, who preceded her in death on March 23, 1991. Inez was also preceded in death by her son, Wendell L. McReynolds, her daughter, Linda R. Brack, one granddaughter, Michelle Brack, and one grandson, Brett Young.
