Governor JB Pritzker is celebrating the groundbreaking of the new Walker’s Bluff Resort and Casino in downstate Carterville.
Walker’s Bluff is already a popular destination for wine, food and events. But the addition of a 116 room hotel, gaming and restaurants will bring even more people to southern Illinois says the Governor.
“And that also means more opportunity for working families across the region creating 1100 construction jobs and 330 permanent roles at this resort.”
The casino will include over 650 slot machines and 20 live table games. The complex is expected to open in early 2023. The Governor says the impact will be spread throughout the entire region with more tourists spending their money.
