The Salem Community Fund has once again set its goal at $20,000 for the Christmas Season.
Bell ringing began the Friday after Thanksgiving and will continue every Friday and Saturday until the week before Christmas.
The fund is coordinated by the Salem Ministerial Alliance. President Phil Martin says through the first two weeks of Bell Ringing $3,000 has been raised.
The Bell Ringers are at Salem IGA from nine am to nine pm and at CVS and Rural King from 9 to 5 each Friday and Saturday.
Martin says a letter is also going out to area businesses seeking donations.
The Community Fund is used to support the one-time needs of the less fortunate.
