Karren E. Hodge, 77, of Iuka, IL passed away at her home, December 1, 2021 in the care of her loving family. Karren was always proud of owning the Iuka Café. She and her husband owned C & K Trucking formerly located in Iuka. She was of the Baptist faith. She will long be remembered by many for having a love for people, and being a mother and grandmother to many.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Tuesday in the chapel of Sutherland – Rankin Funeral Home with burial to follow at Iuka Cemetery. Visiting hours will be from 6:00 -8:00 pm Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Donor’s choice and will be accepted by the Sutherland – Rankin Funeral Home, 310 N. Broadway, P.O. Surviving are her children, Tammye Burge and husband Mike of Flora, Neale Powell and wife Sharon of Perkinston, Mississippi, and Dustin Hodge and wife Casey of Iuka, IL along with 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Also left to mourn her passing are her sisters Maxine Read, Rosie Hahn and Sandy Oswald and husband Verlyn all of Iuka, IL and Lula Belle Clark of Florida.
Born April 28, 1944 in Clay City, IL, she was the daughter of Stephen D. and Maggie E. (Shelton) Jennings. Her first marriage was to Clint Powell. She later united in marriage with Charlie Hodge, Jr., November 19, 1979 in Xenia, IL and he preceded her in death July 8, 1997. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Stephen “Bud”, Les, Everett and Charlie Jennings. and sisters Jessie Turner, Beulah Colclasure, Darlene Sopher, Ollie Greenwood.
