Alice White, 80, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 10:50 am November 24, 2021 at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond Heights, Missouri. Alice was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Mount Vernon Elks. She enjoyed going to the casino, dancing, playing bingo, and singing her own version of happy birthday to anyone that would listen. She was the life of the party and liked to give out scratch off tickets for birthdays but she would have them scratched already. Alice was a firecracker and will be greatly missed.A Visitation will be held Saturday, December 4, 2021 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois.
A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Oakwood Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois with Reverend Don Rector officiating. Interment will follow. Alice is survived by her daughter, Stasey Rightnowar and husband, Greg of Mount Vernon, Illinois; son, William White of Mount Vernon, Illinois; grandchildren, Brandon Scrivner, Lexi Perimon and husband, Justin, Autumn White; step grandchild, Falon Breeze and husband, Cory; nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Carole Allen of Clarksville, Tennesse, Dixie Rector and husband, Don of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Roger Storment and wife, Jan of Allen, Texas; sister-in-law, Mary Alice Ward and husband, Clarence of Arizona.
She was born April 25, 1941 in Benton, Illinois to the late William and Elnora (Church) Learned. Alice married Warren White on December 23, 1960 in Mount Vernon, Illinois. They were blessed with sixty years of marriage until he preceded her in death on March 31, 2021. In addition to her parents and husband, Alice was preceded in death by her brother, Deneen Storment and sister, Carla Soloman.
