Iuka Firemen called three fire departments for mutual aid assistance in fighting a fire in a combine that spread to eight acres of set-aside property.
Fire Chief Kenny Eagan says Rick Smith of 5503 Michael Road northwest of Iuka discovered his combine was on fire as he was unloading beans. The combine was destroyed in the fire.
Salem, Kinmundy-Alma, and Odin were called for mutual aid assistance in bringing water and more equipment.
The fire call came in about noon. Firemen were on the scene for about an hour and a half.
