Ethel Lee Foulks, 98, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on November 3, 2021, at 6:41 pm. She was the child of three children. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed being with her family. Above all, Ethel was a woman of honor.
A Visitation will be held Saturday, November 13, 2021 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Lively Stone Apostolic Church in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am Elder Allen E. Ethel leaves to cherish her loving memory her children, Dorris Jean Higgins of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Maudie “Dwight” Gamble of Carbondale, Illinois, Martha Jones of Owensboro, Kentucky, Jessie Foulks of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Gary Sanders of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Joe “Rasheeda” Sanders of Carbondale, Illinois, James Foulks of West Virginia, and Willie Cross of Hickman, Kentucky; special friend, Patricia Morgan of Decatur, Illinois; sixty-five grandchildren, one hundred seventy-eight great-grandchildren, and seventy-two great-great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. Ethel was preceded in death by her parents; daughters, Ethel Faye, Betty Jean, Corene, Ada; sons, Raymond, Richard, John, and Kevin Foulks; son-in-law, Jerry Jones; siblings, Henrietta Taylor, Willie Foulks; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Ethel was born September 4, 1923, to the late Johnson Foulks and Mary Foulks in Phillippy, Tennessee.
