Larry D. Morton, 60, of Salem, passed away October 16, 2021, at St. Louis University Hospital, in St. Louis. Larry worked as a Lineman with IBEW Local 702, before his retirement in 2019. He was a member of Mt. Vernon Gun and Sportsman’s Club, and a member of IBEW Local 702.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded, and a gathering will be held to celebrate his life from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., on Friday, November 5, 2021, at the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix. On June 25, 1988, at his parent’s home in Kell, he married Carolyn M. Murphy, and she survives in Salem. In addition to his wife, Carolyn Morton of Salem, he is survived by his children, Candi Winkler and finacee Zach Applegate of Centralia, and Kyle Hefley and wife Jennifer of Centralia; six grandchildren, Joel, Sabrina, Cody, Taevon, Reece, and Icesis; four step-grandchildren, Haley, Mariah, Sierra, and Alicia; two great-great grandchildren; and two brothers, Bill Morton and Steve Morton, both of Kell.
He was born June 5, 1961, in Centralia, the son of Alfred Louis and Betty Louise (Roberson) Morton. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Duane Morton; a sister, Mary Horn; and a niece, Crystal Morton.
