Patricia Marie (Kelly) Jones passed away on October 22, 2021, in Columbia, Missouri, at the age of 76 years. She spent most of her years in Mt. Vernon. She graduated from Mt. Vernon Township High School in 1962 and attended University of Southern Illinois. Pat was involved in her parents’ businesses including bowling centers in Mt. Vernon such as Kelley Bowl and Nu Bowl Lanes. She was known as one of the top women bowlers in Southern Illinois. She worked for several social service agencies including the United Methodist Children’s Home and Comprehensive Services. She cared for people in need and took in foster children during their teen years. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Mt. Vernon. After retirement, Pat lived for several years in Naples, Florida, and then moved to Columbia, Missouri.
A Visitation will be held Sunday, October 31, 2021 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 pm with Reverend Gary Davenport officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Pat is survived by her two sons, Mark of Palm Bay, Florida, and Scott of Miami, Florida; and daughter-in-law, Cathleen; and two grandchildren, Austin and Nathan of Miami. She is also survived by many close lifelong friends including Pam Connelly of Columbia, Missouri, and many other friends in Mt. Vernon and the Bethel Ridge community in Columbia.
Pat was born February 29, 1944 to Bernie P. and Harriet (Johnson) Kelley in Centralia, Illinois. She is predeceased by her two parents and had no siblings.
