Paul L. Bumgarner, 70, of Salem passed away Thursday, October 14, 2021.

He was born on April 16, 1951, the son of Everette and Lenora (Wooley) Bumgarner in Iuka. He married the love of his life Sarah Holstlaw on July 6, 1989, in Kentucky and she survives in Salem.

Along with his wife of 32 years, Sarah Bumgarner, Paul is survived by his beloved family, children, William Bumgarner and wife Tammy of Rome, New York, Curtis Holstlaw of Salem, and Keith Bumgarner and wife Katie of Salem; grandchildren, Caleb, Zoe, Cash, & Kennedy; brother, Clarence
Bumgarner of Salem; sisters, Helen Easley of Virginia, Florence Morris of Salem, and Utha Henson of Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews. Paul was preceded in death by his parents Everette and Lenora Bumgarner; sister, Dorothy Venters; brothers, Walter Bumgarner, Henry Bumgarner, George Bumgarner, and Raymond Bumgarner.

Mr. Bumgarner served his country with pride in the United States Marines during Vietnam. Paul worked for Yellow Freight as a driver and was a loyal employee. He was of the Lutheran faith. He liked to use his creative side while building things. His most treasured times were always spent in the company of his grandchildren. He was a wonderfully supportive and loving husband, father, and grandpa. Paul will be deeply missed by all those he knew and loved.

Day Macz Funeral Home in Sandoval is privileged to be assisting the family of Paul Bumgarner with arrangements. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 22, 2021, at Day Macz Funeral Home in Sandoval with Brother Claude Howell officiating. Friends are welcome from
10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Interment at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 25, 2021, at Deadmond Cemetery in Sandoval where military rites will be accorded by the Centralia VFW Post 2055 and American Legion Post 446. Memorials may be made in Paul’s honor to the Family’s Wishes.
