Henrietta Rose Webb, 94, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 2:50 am October 9, 2021 at Nature Trail Health Care in Mount Vernon. Henrietta was a wonderful mother to her children. She was also considered a mother to many whom she took under her wings. She never met a stranger. Henrietta had a huge, open heart and would go out of her way to help others in need. She was a great friend to many. Henrietta’s greatest joy was her family. She also had a great love for quilting baby blankets and quilts for whom she gave to her children, grandchildren, and anyone else who wanted her to make them one. Henrietta also loved to can vegetables from her gardens. She enjoyed to dance, listen to music, and go fishing with whoever wanted to go. Henrietta was of the Baptist faith.
A Graveside Service will be held Thursday, October 21, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Creal Springs Cemetery in Creal Springs, Illinois with Pastor Robert Dale Webb officiating. Inurnment will follow. Henrietta is survived by her children, John Leslie Webb of Johnston City, Illinois, Douglas Mac Webb and wife, Vickie of Woodlawn, Illinois, and Linda Jane Hodge of Mcleansboro, Illinois. She also leaves behind her precious eight grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was born July 1, 1927 in Golconda, Illinois to the late Henry and Bernice (Lenon) Hubbard. Henrietta married John Webb on September 23, 1946 in Corinth, Mississippi. They were blessed with nearly twenty-four years of marriage before he preceded her in death on May 7, 1970. In addition to her parents and husband, Henrietta was preceded in death by her daughter, Sally Christine Lassiter; son, Dennis R. Webb; granddaughter, Melissa; brothers, Leslie Earl Hubbard and wife, Alta, and James Hubbard; sons-in-law, David Lassiter and Larry Hodge; and daughter-in-law, Doris Webb.
