Kandida “Kandi” Bess, 50, of Sesser, Illinois, passed away at 2:49 pm October 7, 2021, at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon, Illinois.
She was born August 11, 1971, in Twin Falls, Idaho to Monty Bess and Charlotte (Williams) Cooper.
Kandi is survived by her mother, Charlotte Williams-Cooper of Mount Vernon; daughter, Alexandria Bess of Mount Vernon, Illinois; loving fur baby, Cleo; sisters, Sherry Lynne and husband, Jim of Idaho, Lisa Bess; brothers, David Bess and Donald Bess, both of Idaho; special nephew, Cash Bess of Idaho; several nieces and nephews; special aunt, Connie Armstrong and husband, Kenny of Idaho; and several aunts and uncles.
Kandi was a kind-hearted person who took in many, gave without question, and was considered family by many. Both her family on the West Coast and here will miss her dearly. Kandi was preceded in death by her father, Monty D. Bess; stepfather, Clyde J. Cooper; grandmother, Jessie Bain; and grandparents, Chad and Opal Bess. Kandi was baptized at West Side Baptist Church. She was loved greatly and gave much without asking. Kandi was a die-hard Metallica fan and a unique soul. Her greatly philosophy was the value of everything’s life and purpose.
