Marion County Health Department reports 76 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday and Thursday

The Marion County Health Department reported 76 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday and Thursday.  Ten of those testing positive are fully vaccinated.

The health department reports ten of the cases are in school-age children.  None were in long-term care residents or children under four.   71 of the cases are considered community spread and five as a result of household or close contacts.

There are now 793 active cases in Marion County who are in isolation, including 34 who are hospitalized.  Four of those in the hospital are on ventilators.  The age breakdown for those in the hospital are two in their 30s, five in their 40s, 10 in their 50s, 11 in their 60s, four in their 70s, and two in their 80s.

There were no additional deaths to report during the two-day period.  The total number of deaths in Marion County since the pandemic began is at 145.
