2021 09/26 – Rowena ‘Joyce’ Heyduck

Rowena “Joyce” Heyduck, 82 of rural Salem, Illinois passed away Thursday, September 23, 2021, at her farm home in the loving care of her daughter Rebecca and grandson Seth.

Born March 20, 1939, in Leora, MO, she was the daughter of Norman W. and Annie Lucille (Williamson) Rankin.

Joyce was self-employed and will be remembered for her excellent upholstery work for residents, businesses and churches in the area. Anything she put her hand to was done with excellence; especially gardening, oil painting, and raising animals. She enjoyed attending Harvey’s Point Christian Church in Kell.

She married Dwight M. Heyduck, November 25, 1987, in Paducah, KY and he preceded her in death on November 2, 2000.

Surviving are her children Robert W. Sands and Rebecca K. Sands, both of Salem, IL along with grandchildren Seth Sands of Salem, IL, and Landon Beasley and wife Ann of Murphysboro, IL.   Also great-grandchildren Aden and Ryland Sands, Gwendolyn, William, and Owen Beasley, and Kassandra. Also left to mourn her passing are her siblings Charles Rankin of Ullin, IL, Gailen “Jake” Rankin of Salem, IL, and Nida Woodfall of Mt. Vernon, IL. Sisters-in-law Faye Rankin, Becky Rankin, and Julie Rankin along with brother-in-law Ralph Custer.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Kathryn Beasley Coatney, grandchildren Patrick, Adam, and Billy Jack Beasley and Aaron Sands; a great-grandson Neal Beasley and siblings Norman Edward Rankin, Dallas Rankin, Landon Rankin, and Fern Custer, and brother-in-law William Woodfall.

Ms. Heyduck chose simple cremation. There will be no public visitation or service.   Burial will be private at the Antioch Cemetery Cemetery, Centralia, IL. Memorials may be made to the Antioch Cemetery Care Fund and will be accepted by the Sutherland – Rankin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 97, 310 N.
