2021 09/16 – Larry Dean Pritchard

Larry Dean Pritchard, age 80, of Centralia, Illinois, passed away at 8:13 P.M. on Friday, September 10. 2021, at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon, Illinois. He was born on March 4, 1941, in Robinson, Illinois, the son of Oscar Denver and Cleo M. (Dollahan) Pritchard.  He married Beverly JoAnn Tincher on August 17, 1964, in Gary, Indiana, and she preceded him in death on January 25, 2020.

Mr. Pritchard is survived by his daughter, Tammy Applegate and husband Edward of Centralia, Illinois; sons, Bryan Pritchard and special friend Kellen McMullin of Centralia, Illinois, and Larry “Butch” Pritchard and wife LeAnn of Centralia, Illinois; grandchildren, Zachary Applegate and fiancée Candi Winkler, Kristopher Applegate and wife Ashley, Briar Applegate and wife Emily, Ashlie Braddy and husband Cory, Lyndsee Witt and husband Terry, Dakotah Pritchard and fiancé Hailey Walker, Robert Harmon, Nick Harmon and Caitlyn Pritchard; 8 great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Patten and husband Walter of Centralia, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his loving wife of 55 years, Mr. Pritchard was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Pritchard, and Cleo Pritchard; sisters, Betty Lou Porter and husband Marvin, and Mabel Patten and husband Elmer; brothers, Edward Eugene Pritchard, Kenneth Pritchard, John Harvey Pritchard, Jack Ernest Pritchard and wife Elsie; and Oscar Clyde Pritchard and wife Nina Beryl (McDowell) Pritchard.

Mr. Pritchard enjoyed a good game of bowling. He was an avid watcher of television, especially watching the old western show and movies.  He was known to be a storyteller, and he told his stories in such a manner, that he himself believed them. He cherished the time he spent with his family, especially looking after his wife, Beverly.

Mr. Pritchard retired in 1996 as a tamper operator from Burlington Northern Railroad after many years of service.  He dedicated his life to working on the railroad after his love and dedication to his wife.  He has lived in Centralia, Illinois since 1972, and previously lived in Gary, Indiana.

In following the wishes of Mr. Larry Dean Pritchard, there will be no visitation nor services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are appreciated and will be received by the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home.
