The first Balloon Race of Balloon Fest ’21 had to be canceled due to uncertain weather conditions, but the Friday night Glow did go off with a near-normal Friday night crowd in Foundation Park.

Four balloons were able to fly out of Foundation Park Friday night before the glow began.

The Saturday morning race was canceled at 5:30 am due to foggy conditions and thunderstorms to the west and south of Centralia.

After all but the Balloon events had to be canceled last year due to COVID-19 restrictions the craft fair, children’s activities, entertainment, and children’s games resumed this year.

If the weather cooperates, a balloon race is being planned for six Saturday night followed by a glow at 7:30.  There will be a mini-glow in Fairview Park that will be a drive-through for those who don’t want to get out of their cars.

We’d love to see your photos!  The photo voted the best by our viewers will win a basket full of Balloon Fest goodies from the Greater Centralia Chamber of Commerce.   Enter here:  https://wjbdradio.secondstreetapp.com/Balloon-Fest-2021-Photo-Contest/rounds/1/gallery/
