Police Beat for Saturday, August 14th, 2021

Centralia Police have arrested a 30-year-old Kinmundy man for aggravated domestic battery.   Police say the arrest of Andrew Casner of Omega Road stems from a January incident.   Casner was initially taken into custody during a traffic stop by Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies on Friday.

42-year-old Brian Hartnell of Florida Avenue in Sandoval was arrested by Sandoval Police for fleeing and eluding police and on an outstanding Marion County felony failure to appear warrant on a pending charge of unlawful delivery of less than five grams of methamphetamine.  He was taken to the Marion County Jail where he was being held on the new charge as well as $25,000 bond on the outstanding warrant.

Wamac Police arrested 30-year-old Cameron Jones of South Pruyn in Salem on charges of unlawful possession of a stolen debit card and theft.

Centralia Police arrested and took 18-year-old Martez Johnson of East 16th in Centralia to the Marion County Jail for alleged domestic battery and criminal damage to property.

25-year-old Casey Short of North Street in Carlyle was arrested by Wamac Police on an outstanding Marion County felony failure to appear warrant in a possession of methamphetamine case.   His bond is set at $10,000.

A 31-year-old Rinard woman was arrested for alleged DUI after Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies received a report of her car being in the ditch along Route 161 east of Bell Club Road early Friday morning.  Deputies report when they arrived, the driver identified as Katie McAlister, had gotten out of the ditch and was headed eastbound on Route 161.    She was stopped east of the Skillet Fork Bridge and taken into custody.   McAlister later posted bond and was released from the Marion County Jail.

20-year-old Courtney Davis of North James in Centralia was arrested by Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies for alleged misdemeanor battery.  She posted $150 bond and was released.

37-year-old Rachel Crain of Salem was arrested by Salem Police at the Days Inn in Salem on an outstanding Iroquois County felony warrant.  She posted $500 bond and was released from the Marion County Jail.

Two people posted bond and were released on outstanding Marion County traffic warrants.  48-year-old William Hill of Airport Road in Salem posted $250 bond after being arrested by Salem Police at the Days Inn in Salem. 28-year-old Timmel Porter of 4th Street in Mt. Vernon turned himself in at the Marion County Jail.  He was released after posting $150 bond.
