Ameren Illinois officials say there was significant power line and power pole damage in the Kinmundy and Alma area when a strong wind blew in just before five
Thursday afternoon ahead of a cool front.
The outage impacted nearly 700 customers.
The initial problem was found when a pole and power line came down on Sycamore Street between Madison and Jefferson. The Kinmundy-Alma Fire Department was called out to stand by in that area until power company crews arrived. Additional power crews were then added when the scope of the problem became apparent.
The last power was restored around four Friday morning.
