The Franklin Park Bobcats opened up their season with a 12-1 home loss to Woodlawn. The visitors jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the first inning and added 5 more in the fifth to short game Salem. Eli Lograsso worked the first 3 innings giving up 6 hits and 6 runs but only 2 of them were earned. He struck out 4 and walked just 1. Cam Carmichael worked the final 2 innings. At the plate, Salem did not get a hit. Carmichael drove in the only run of the game with a bases loaded walk. Salem returns to action Tuesday against Carlyle.
Patoka/Odin held off Raccoon/Kell’s late run in the seventh inning as the Mohawks pulled off the 6-5 win. Kyan Walker and Brady Haines drove in runs for Odin. Hunter Thompson went 2-2, with singles also from Brady Cain and Drew Haines. Michael Organ homered in the loss for Raccoon. Jarett Rushing added 2 hits and a run. Ben Spencer worked the first five innings for Patoka/Odin earning the win with 4 hits allowed and 3 runs with 7 strikeouts. Bo Chapman picked up the 2 inning save.
The Selmaville Rockets knocked off Willow Grove/St Mary 8-6. Riley Tate doubled and scored for the Rockets who got 3 hits from Brendan Smith as he drove in a run, Carter Lowe had 2 hits and a run, Zane Dodson drove in a run along with Alijah Carroll. Aaden Rostance was the winning pitcher going 4 innings allowing 3 runs, 1 earned. Lowe worked the final 3 innings.
Selmaville advances to the tournament semifinal at Central City today at 4pm taking on the Citians while Odin will host top seed Field at 4pm.
The SC Falcons get set to open up their season tomorrow when they head to the Greenville Tournament.
