The Marion County Health Department is reporting 38 new COVID-19 cases from Friday through Monday.

Health Department Administrator Melissa Mallow says five of those testing positive are fully vaccinated and one is linked to an on-going outbreak at a Salem factory. The department reports 31 of the cases are considered community spread and seven are the result of household or close contacts.

The cases range from one girl under three to a male in his 70s and female in her 80s. Six are in school age children and none in long-term care facilities.

There are now 125 active cases in the county, including 10 in the hospital and three of those on ventilators. One person has been released from isolation in the four day reporting period.

123,309 COVID-19 tests have now been completed on Marion County residents, with 4,795 positive. Marion County is currently reporting 121 COVID-19 related deaths since the pandemic began.
