The Sandoval School Board has named Tyler Mitchell as its new athletic director and head boys basketball coach. Mitchell was hired as a teacher last month.
Mitchell will replace Nathan Mayberry who resigned the positions when being elevated to the assistant principal position at Sandoval Junior-Senior High School. Mitchell had formerly served as head boys basketball coach at Odin High School.
The Sandoval School Board also named two other head coaches. Alesia Parmley will be head girls volleyball coach and Donya Jett head girls junior high softball coach.
Superintendent Matt Dannaman says renovation work at Sandoval Grade and replacement of the boiler at Sandoval Junior/Senior High School remain on schedule. He’s hoping both projects will be completed by the start of the school year.
