A 49-year-old Mt. Vernon man has been sentenced to 142 years in prison in Jefferson County Court on Thursday.
Michael Wheeler had pleaded guilty in May to five counts of producing child pornography and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse to a victim under the age of 13.
Under state law, the time on the Class X felony charges all have to be served consecutively.
The investigation into the case was handled by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department after an image of child pornography was seized from an electronic device in June of last year.
