The Salem swordfish who are sponsored in part by Douglas veterinary, Chico’s, Crouse Funeral home, Edward Jones- Shawn Garrett and Salem Dental Dr. Steve Light defeated the Mt Vernon Flippers last night at the Salem Aquatic Center.

The 6 and under girls had wins in the 25 freestyle and 25 backstroke by Clara Crompton.  For the boys, 5 year old Pax Stanford won the 25 freestyle while teammate 4 year old Josiah Henson finished 2nd.

The girls 7/8 year old division had wins by Kinsley Gansauer in the 25 fly, 25 free and 25 backstroke. Gia Ward was 1st in 25 breaststroke and 2nd in the 25 free. Piper Stanford finished 2nd in both the 25 backstroke and 25 breaststroke.

For the 7/8 boys Lewis Eddy finished 1st place in the 25 freestyle, 25 backstroke and 50 free. Mason Dice finished runner up in 25 back and 25 breast. And Weston Crouse finished 2nd in the 50 free.

9/10 girls had wins by Adeline Douglas , Charlotte Johnson and Kenna Benjamin.

9/10 boys Kai Graham finished first in the 25 fly while Jared Crompton won the 25 free and 25 back.  9 year old team mate Emit Gibson took first in the 100 Individual Medley.

11/12 girls relay of Addison lever, Leah Crompton, Lauren Brubaker and Kendall Laird won the 200 medley relay. The free relay was won by the team of Kendall Laird, Lauren Brubaker, Nora Purcell and Addison Lever.

Martin Douglas had a pair of first place finishes for the 11/12 boys.

Scoring points for the 13/14 boys were Ethan Baldridge, Micah Finckbone, Jalen Inlow, and Austin Woolridge.

The Swordfish will travel to Marion this Saturday.
