The Illinois Attorney General’s office has dismissed a child pornography charge pending against an 18-year-old Centralia man.
The verbal motion was made during a Marion County Court appearance where Garrick Hiltibidal of Fairway Drive was scheduled for a plea agreement.
Hiltibidal had been arrested in December of last year when a video depicting a child under 18 engaged in sexual conduct with another was found on his phone.
Hiltibidal had just turned 18 a short time before the video was discovered that apparently had been taken when he was still a juvenile.
The court file does not provide any details on why the Assistant Attorney General handling the case moved to drop the prosecution.
